Looking forward to sun drenched endless lazy days with chilled out kids eager to entertain themselves? Well, we can but dream! In the evet of your dreams not coming true, go to plan B and pay us a visit! We've got lots of arty activities to keep you and your little smashers gainfully occupied, so fear not! I've kept the format nice and simple (for my benefit, as much as anyone else's!) so here's the line up:- Tuesdays - Pottery Painting themed days, including Dinosaurs, Minions, Shopkins and more! June jolliness 2017

How's it going? This year is galloping apace, isn't it? I had this marvellous plan at the beginning of the year about what I wanted to create and I must admit that I've had to modify my goals a bit as it's been so busy! This week is particularly full on, as it's half term; we've had a Trolls painting workshop on Tuesday, our new block printing workshop today, Clay Day tomorrow daytime (Fairy doors and toadstools) and Twilight PYOP tomorrow evening for adults. If this weren't enough, we'll be open for more pottery painting with Father's Day in mind on Friday and Saturday and finally, our Stoneware Greenman Plaque making workshop is on Sunday! Excitingly, I've also got the 1st of (hopefully) a

Have a Go at the Potter's Wheel, March 25th 2017

Crumbs! What a busy year it's been so far! I've been having a blast creating a stack of events for you, and have already enjoyed seeing lots of new faces in the studio as well as some seasoned pottery practitioners! With the Great Pottery Throwdown on BBC2 nearing its conclusion, I've been inspired / cajouled into holding my own mini pottery throw down for one day only, so this Saturday (25th March) it's 'Have a Go on the Potter's Wheel' day, and I've got my colleague, Chris Marsh of Bridge Pottery coming down to help you throw a pot! It's a 10 minute drop in session with no age restrictions, it costs £5 to have a go on the wheel, and if you'd like your creation fired, a further £2.50. With

School's out for Summer

It's a beautiful June afternoon, the birdies are twittering away in the garden, Billie's snoozing gently in the lounge (my Labrador) and all is right with world (ish!) So, what a perfect moment to fill you in on the Summer Holiday plans at Saz's Ceramics; are you sitting comfortably? Let's begin then! Our ever popular Clay Days are set to continue each Thursday at 11am and 2pm. If you'd like to book your child in, please contact me as soon as possible, as these get filled up quickly. Prices are £7.50 per child, £10 per adult. In each session I teach you how to make a set project, but if you'd like to freestyle, please book in for 'Clay Play', which is where you get the use of our tools, a lu

May Half Term

Hello there! How are you now that the Easter hols are over? Exhausted? Glad to be back to some semblance of normality? I know that I am! It was really busy in the studio, with lots of lovely customers of all ages creating all sorts of things! I'm surrounded by ceramic sheep and rabbits at the mo as a result of Clay Days, and I'm already taking bookings for Whit week! So, if you'd like to make a Henry Hedgehog, get in contact as soon as possible. Clay Day will take place on the 2nd of June, with sessions running at 11am and 2pm; it's £7.50 for children, £10 for adults.

Happy Easter 2016

Happy Easter all! I can't wait 'til the clocks go forward, as it'll be longer, lighter evenings and I'll be able to do even more crafts (with any luck!) I've been taking bookings for both weeks during the Easter hols, but there's still some spaces left if you fancy getting creative on Clay Day. I've also been inspired by Pysanky art recently, which is an art form popular in the Ukraine; it's a method of painting with wax, which I'm going to introduce to the studio during the hols. Come on either Wednesday for a chance to learn this and have some fun marbling as well. In addition to these crafts, we'll be print making on Tuesdays, with Spring motifs very much in mind. So much to choose from!

February Half Term

Hard to believe that it's almost half term already! I'm only just getting into the groove of 2016! Spring cleaning, reorganising stock, preparing for future workshops and teaching lovely customers clay and pottery painting techniques.... it's all go! So, if you are trying to work out what to do over half term, let me offer you a few suggestions: Monday: Pre-booked clay courses. Pottery painting is available, but it's best to call ahead to let me know you're coming in. Tuesday: May the Force be with you - a day of Star Wars themed crafts. During the course of the day you'll learn how to paint a canvas based on your favourite Star Wars character at 10am, make a clay BB8 droid at 11.30am, make

New Year, New Me!

Go on then, admit it... you've made New Year's Resolutions, haven't you? And if you're anything like me, you'll have broken them as quickly as you've made them, lol! However, here's one resolution which you can, and really should keep to. Try to make 2016 the year to be kinder to yourself! I think it's fair to say that modern life truly can be a bit rubbish, and it comes as little surprise to me that 'art therapy' anti-stress colouring books have become so popular in recent months. I have bought a few of these myself, but I enjoy designing the patterns more than colouring them in! I've also seen an increase in adult customers saying that they want a bit of 'me time' away from the daily grind

October Half Term

Greetings, my lovely chums, from sunny Minehead! Billie's gone for a swim in the sea, and a dig on the beach. She's got a penchant for seaweed, so I may have to take some home with me when we return from our hols on Friday. And here you find me, working (tut!) However, I couldn't relax without posting an update as to what's happening at Saz's Ceramics over half term. Here's the lowdown: Monday: Closed for a mental recharge. Tuesday: Decorate a pumpkin tea light holders with foam clay, drop in £7.50pp Wednesday: Polymer clay spooky charms - workshops start at 11am and 2pm. Book now £7.50pp Thursday: Clay Day Haunted houses - workshops start at 11am and 2pm. Book now £7.50pp Friday: Day of the

'Craftastic' Creative Arts Club

October's shaping up to be a beautiful month; walking with Billie, my Labrador, is a joy with all the wonderful colours of the Autumn leaves for us to kick our way through. It's also an inspiring month craft-wise, as the popular woodland theme continues to attract people to painting and making adorable animals such as badgers, foxes, hedgehogs and more. So, now is the perfect opportunity to get involved and join our new Creative Arts Club 'Craftastic', which runs on Saturday mornings from 10.30am till 12 noon. Each week I'm sharing with you my love of all manner of crafts, from paper weaving to polymer clay, mixed media collage, printing techniques and much more! Join me this Saturday for so
