Carly's January Blogness!

Good grief! It's the 31st January already and I haven't done the blog!! Get tippy tappy typing quick!

It's hardly surprising I've only just got round to it - we've had so much going on. Whoever said that January is a quiet month? We have had the busiest start to a New Year ever - lots of lovely people visiting us to paint, clay play and throw on the potter's wheel. We've had birthday parties, people coming for a bit of 'me' time and couples enjoying a pottery date together.

The re-jig of the studio is still on-going too! The team came in between Christmas and New Year to have a big sort out. Our bisque items have all been re-displayed, with the most amount of stock we have ever had all out at once. We have a dedicated homeware area, along with displays of our faceted shapes, woodland and Harry Potter themes. We hope you're all going to enjoy the update.

Major changes for the workforce too - Saz has decided to take more of a backseat from the studio and get more creative. Her passion for throwing is really taking off, and this is something she wants to focus on more. Which means that the studio now has a new Manager - yours truly! Don't worry - it will still be running smoothly, and it'll be me who answers telephone calls, messages and the majority of emails. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all a little better! I'm also launching my own pottery range - Bostin' Clay, which I am hoping to get promoting next month, so keep an eye out for that! Eden is still our Pottery Handyperson on Saturday's, and will occasionally be joined by Zoe, who helps out when required.

The BIG news is our community project. Wordsley won't know what's hit it! We are proud to be working with Friends of Wordsley Parks to produce a tiled mural around the planter located on Wordsley Green. We've already got the logos of local businesses ready to go on tiles, the tiles and glazes have been ordered and numbers are being collated of the Wordsley nurseries, schools, care homes, community groups and churches. We will shortly be dividing up the tiles and getting out there to capture people's handprints to feature in our design for the mural. It is so exciting for us to be a part of this - we can't wait to meet everyone and put this together for Wordsley to enjoy for years to come.
