Carly's July Blogness!

Hello again everyone! I thought it best to get my monthly blog done today, as the kids break up this week. That means for the next 6 weeks the studio is going to be pretty full on! We are busy taking bookings and places are filling up quick. Every Wednesday and Thursday we are doing specific painting & clay workshops priced at £16pp (full details on be found on our website and our Facebook page). The great news is that Dudley HAF have signed us up again to provide kids activities over the Summer. We are holding a total of 12 different workshops for 120 children - and they are all booked up! On top of that, we of course are still offering our pottery painting and clay play sessions - starting from £8pp.

We had a great time last weekend - it was our have a go potter's wheel weekend with lots of people in throwing their pots, and I decided to make it a glass cone event! It was Black Country Day on Friday, so we hosted pop up workshops for people to have a go at making their own cones. I set to work on my Christmas stock - oodles of mini cones soon started to fill the table. These will be on sale in time for December, when we are also hosting stalls at the Wordsley Christmas Light switch on on Saturday 2nd December and the Kingswinford Christmas Light switch on on Sunday 3rd December - I know! I'm mentioning the 'C' word already!

BIG NEWS!! Next week the fitting of the tiles on the Wordsley Community Mural Project gets under way! I cannot tell you how pleased we are about this - it's a mammoth project and it will be so exciting for all those involved to see this completed. Myself and Saz will be on hand round Wordsley Green whilst the tiles are fixed, supervising to make sure the pattern is OK and all tiles are present & correct. Friends of Wordsley Parks are weeding this weekend to have the planter looking it's best. A lovely team of apprentice tilers will be coming from Dudley MBC to do the work, and Wordsley Library have kindly volunteered to store materials whilst the job is completed. Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the date of the official unveiling of the mural!
