Carly's May Blogness!

Hello everyone! Are we all well? This nice Spring-like weather and a bit of warmth is suiting us down to the ground. We'll shortly be ferreting around in our cellar, sorting through our many garden themed pieces which we can get casting and out on our shelves ready for Summer. Toadstools, flowers, funky pots....keep an eye out!

Myself and Saz had a lovely time yesterday! We had an away day, busman's holiday type thingy to another potter - Cazamics in Telford - it was brilliant! Spent a great couple of hours learning to make clay flowers - roses, daisies, daffodils, pansies.....expect us to be producing a flower bed! It's really great to see how fellow potters work - we're going to make it a 'thing' now that we have an away day every so often to learn new skills. We're also looking forward to going to see Keith Brymer-Jones out on tour next month in Shrewsbury - a real treat, as we both absolutely love him!

We have now chosen our new local charity to support - "Beth's Sunflowers". Beth Childs, from Kingswinford, sadly lost her battle with Leukaemia in 2018, aged just 20. Since then, her Mom, Andrea Childs, has raised money for Cure Leukaemia and other blood cancer charities, by selling sunflower seeds. She is now expanding her range of items, and we have produced a sunflower bowl, which we will have available to purchase in the studio as a pottery painting experience. We are still working on the Wordsley Together Community Mural - it's now nearing completion, with tiles nearly ready for installation around the planter at Wordsley Green. It's looking amazing already, and we cannot wait to see it in all it's glory!
