Carly's Spooky Halloween Bloggage!

Please accept my apologies for being very quiet with my blogs for the last couple of months, but we have literally been snowed under with work! Which is wonderful to report!

So what's been going on? So much to tell!! Our Summer was the busiest we have ever known. We doubled the amount of Dudley HAF classes from the year before - 120 children booked in for pottery painting and clay play workshops, and we had the best turn out ever - I would say 90% of those booked turned up to partake. Lots of very happy children and parents, who loved their activities and the items they created. On top of this we had a definite increase in the amount of customers too, thanks largely to the terrible British weather!

Then we finally reached the end of our huge community project - the Wordsley Together Community Planter! It's truly magnificent - if you haven't seen it yet, pay a visit to Wordsley Green. You really cannot miss it - it brings a real splash of colour and is a focal point now in the village. We are hoping that this will be the first of many projects with local communities.

Now we are focusing on Halloween, Half Term, Christmas and a commission from Dudley Creates! We are taking bookings for over half term, when we will be open Monday to Sunday, 11am - 4pm. Saz has been busy making up Halloween kits with acrylic paints which kids can have fun with at home, and we have a wonderful range of spookiness in the studio too, as well as bookings being taken for our fabulous Bumpkin plates!

Dudley Creates, in conjunction with Creative Black Country and the Arts Council have commissioned us to run free clay workshops across a weekend in November. We will be making clay plaques in Wordsley Park, decorated with leaves and sticks, with community groups on 17th, 18th & 19th November (we have a couple of slots left if you are part of a community group and fancy it!) These will be part of a large exhibition in the Borough in the early part of next year.

And it's never too early to be thinking about Christmas! We have some amazing new shapes to paint, some clay workshops, and a set of Santa tree ornaments priced at only £5 which we would like people to paint up for display on our tree at the Holy Trinity Christmas Tree Festival. Plus, this year we will have stalls at the Dingle Community Centre, Wordsley Light Switch On and the Kingswinford Light Switch On (keep your eye on our Facebook page for more details soon).

We never rest - we are constantly keeping busy finding new projects, and exciting workshops and items for people to partake in, in our little studio. Come and say hello soon!
