Carly's June Blogness!

No way are we half way through the year!! We've surely only just packed away Christmas? At this rate it will soon be time to get it all back out again!

As I sit here and tippy tappy type to you all, the sun is shining down (not on me, I'm in the studio, but there is a lovely warm breeze wafting through the door). We are all looking forward to our holidays I bet. I'm off myself next week. To Wales. It's going to pour down! My answer to this is to take a load of pottery with me, so I can lock myself in the caravan and get creative. Do you know we do some great takeaway kits? Small ones for kids with acrylic paints, or pick any item off our shelves and hire your self a glaze kit. Perch yourself in a sunny spot (if you can find one) and paint away!

Father's Day this weekend - if you need a last minute gift, we have some fab finished ware items, especially the Black Country mugs. Gift vouchers are also available, if you think Dad might like to dabble on the potter's wheel. £30 for 1hour - includes expert tuition form Saz and then the chance to throw a couple of their own pots.

Half term and the jubilee weekend were a great success - lots of lovely people dropping in and trying their hand at pottery painting. We had some cracking octopus created as well by some very talented kids. After receiving a bumper crop of entries into our Queen's platter competition, we whittled it down to 8. Saz is currently transferring the designs onto a large platter, and this will eventually go on display on site. Keep your eyes peeled for that one!

Our next Throwdown challenge has been released - Saturday 2nd July 1-4pm. Design an item of BBQ ware. See the website for details and get booking in now! I know what I'm going to make already and cannot wait - the last one was great fun!
