Carly's July Blogness!

Hello everyone! I type to you now whilst recovering from 2 days of the Summer inferno that was the 18th and 19th July 2022! What was that all about???!! Myself and Saz couldn't even face the second day of it, and stayed at home away from the heat of the kiln.

We are now preparing for this year's school summer hols! Lots of activities going on for pottery painting and clay hand building. Saz has developed a new topic for each week (full details on our Facebook and web page). I'm looking forward to the creation of fairy houses - got to love a fairy dwelling!

Unfortunately, we did not win the trophy at the Nachural Business Awards. Saz had a lovely evening however, chatting to fellow nominees (this is code for 'handing out business cards'!). Our name and what we do appeared in the lovely glossy brochure, so our name is definitely out there! Making it to the final was great for us though - we gave ourselves a big pat on the back.

This Sunday (24th) sees the arrival of the Queen's Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games at the Red House Glass Cone. Between 1-4pm the Cone is holding a fun day - lots of activities to be enjoyed - with craft demos, pop-up workshops, a DJ and of course the chance to see the baton. We will be offering the chance to see if you can throw a pot on the potter's wheel or do some porcelain painting - £5pp. You won't be able to just walk on site - you will need a wrist band for entry. These can be obtained from cone reception before the event.
